YMCA Summer Programme

Summer Programme

Parents had the chance to keep their children entertained this summer, thanks to Redditch YMCA's fun-packed Holiday Playscheme, Soccer Academy and Week of Sport.

The Playscheme was held at the YMCA Centre in Church Hill on weekdays during the summer holidays, beginning on Wednesday, 22 July through to Friday, 28 August. Aimed children aged between 5 and 14, it ran from 9am to 4:30pm, with an Early Bird session from 8am.

There were trips out each week to places including Ragley Hall, Twycross Zoo, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Drayton Manor Park.

For children aged between 8 and 12 there was a Week of Sport between Monday, 3 August and Friday, Saturday, 8 August, which included basketball, martial arts, swimming, badminton, tennis and athletics, all held at Church Hill Middle School from 9am to 4pm daily.

For all those that wanted to learn new football skills, improve their tackling and goal scoring, a week of football coaching was on offer for 8 to 12-year olds at the Soccer Academy held from Monday, 10 August to Friday, 14 August between 9am and 4pm.

The Academy was held at Church Hill Middle School, and included a visit and tour of Aston Villa FC at the end of the week.

YMCA staff were thrilled that these summer activities were well attended and the children all enjoyed themselves.
